"They may not be the best-known towpaths but two sections are a cut above the rest .Penkford Bridge ,at Newton-le-Willows, a 21 peg length on the natural part of the waterway, is a real gem fishing to bread punch ,caster and pinkie .It produces big roach nets although catches are difficult to estimate because keepnets are not allowed."
