Can anyone tell me what is going to be done about the state of Vulcan dam and the lower pound they are a mess and if nothing is done to rectify this problem I and many other anglers I know will not be renewing our permits for next year. If these waters where match waters I can guarantee they would not be allowed to get in this state all you seem concerned about is your match anglers and not pleasure anglers and I pay the same amount every year as they do
Also it is going to kill any fish due to the lack of oxygen in the waters.

I am not predominately a match angler, I do however run the work parties. With the low turn out to carry out maintenance tasks it is hard to keep on top of every water. Members can complain profusely, but ask them to spare a few hours of their time and they get all defensive and illusive. This topic needs the general membership to take notice as the Committee and hard core who turn out to do work, know only too well what needs doing. You can start a campaign if you wish and poll all the members to see who would be willing to help. As i do, you will get loads saying they will turn out to work, but come the moment there will always be the hard core workers and a Pretoria of excuses why no one else could turn up.
Over 900 members yet less than 1% turn out to carry out and assist with my work parties year on year.
I hear you, but don't have the resources to drop every other task on my list. Sorry.
BTW Lower Pound is a match water and a weed boat was on their last month cutting back weed and overgrowth. Some members have also took it on themselves to get in the water at the upper pound and de-weed and cut back overhanging trees.
If you can muster all these 'many other anglers' who are complaining then get them to help you make a difference.

I also run a blog which is mainly about my fishing exploits but I also post up info and results from Newton Asc
www.johnfishing.wordpress.com there is a menu in there that will allow you to navigate about and see just how productive we are on maintenance of the waters.
