Notes:This is a section of disused canal that escaped the 1960's landfill program, due to a few dedicated local anglers, that has since become controlled by Newton-le-Willows A.A.
It is approx 1300 meters long and has 103 pegs on it, there is some very good specimen fishing for carp, tench and pike, also some very good silver fish and pleasure angling to be had. It is blocked off at both ends so there is no boat traffic.
Day tickets can be purchased on the bank costing £6.00. Alternatively, tickets are available from Aquatic Discounts, Haydock St, Earlestown, and the Londis shop, Bradleigh Rd, opposite the hospital, at a cost of £4.00 prior to starting fishing.
This section is also used for most Association matches in the senior match program.
